The Rose
The Rose The rose is a ruby gem, Through the thorns rip and tear, Silk petals dance in the breeze, And even the leaves are red. The rose is a fair maiden, Whose beauty never ceases, Its temperament can change in an instant, But the love shall never leave. The rose is a living thing, Who breathes, eats, and sleeps, Who is born and lives and dies, And grows with care and love. The rose is a heart, Red and in bloom, It changes, and sometimes loves and hates, Or really both inside. The rose is a wild thing, Tamed and bred long ago, She is beautiful, but often rough, And still its instincts are alive, But is beautiful like a ruby gem.
