BECOME A PERSISTENT BOOKER

When many of you joined CH chances are that you set your goal to hold two-three parties per week and now you may be looking at your calendar marked up with "pretty little stickers" identifying the days you will work, but...there are NO NAMES in the calendar spaces!

If your calendar is pretty thin you may be beginning to panic because no bookings means no paycheck! If you are in that situation Stop worrying! There are things you can do that will immediately change your situation. The question is, "are you willing to do what it takes?" I'll warn you right now, "some of you may not like what I am about to say because you may see yourself in one or more of these situations. I encourage you to keep reading so you can become the great booker I know you can be!" OK, now with that said, let's keep going.

The definition of persistence means "to hold firmly and steadfastly to a purpose or undertaking, despite obstacles"! (read that again!) To persist means that "no matter what" you will not give up and I know you’ve heard me say that before! If you want to succeed in your Celebrating Home business it is an absolute must for you to become and remain a "persistent booker"! You can make it happen, but you can't "give up" every time it gets a little tough! So what if a potential hostess says "no" to you. "Get over it" and move forward to the next one!

In CH you will observe at Rally, by listening to a tele-course, or by reading the Party News about Designers who just "make things happen" and you will also meet or hear about Designers who "wonder what happened"! I happen to be one of those people who love to "make things happen"! I set goals, work hard and remain focused until my goals are reached. I want to see you reach your goals too! The situation you may be in today is no question the direct result of the actions you have been taking! Let me repeat that another way, "you are where you are, because of what you have (or have not) done! You can make excuses if you want but the reality is, if other people are "making it happen", why aren't you? Please take time and think about that! Although I consistently have people tell me, "no one wants to have a party" there are many many Designers who are most often “booked full with 3 to 4 dates a week for thirty to forty days out"! Those who truly want this business to work are out there making it happen, regardless if they have been in the business for years or for only a few months! When we join CH we are all given the same opportunity to succeed. It is what we do with that opportunity that will make the difference between failure and success.  If you are not getting bookings stop asking the same people and go find now ones!

Since joining Celebrating Home and working with a team I have identified specific traits that determine whether a person becomes a "whiner" or a "winner"! I've also discovered that inside every "whiner" is a "winner" trying to get out! Let's see what the difference is.

Traits of Whiners:

-Take FOREVER to begin their business. They often don’t commit and follow through to complete their Ready, Set, Go! Program. They are always waiting for the perfect season, week, day, time or whatever before they schedule their parties. They’re waiting for a work schedule to change, for the kids to go back to school, for football season to be over, for the snow to go away before they begin scheduling and booking parties and fundraisers. They don't remain focused on their business and make excuses for not having time.

-Doesn’t set goals for her CH business, figures whatever happens, HAPPENS. Doesn’t expect much to happen so she isn’t disappointed when it DOESN’T HAPPEN!

- Wants to keep 100% of her commission and would rather not have a booking than offer a “special gift for booking.” She isn’t willing to commit time and registration fees to do fairs.
-Never makes time to make important follow up calls for bookings, for finding fairs and other event to build new booking circles.

- Doesn’t attend weekly team calls, CH telecourses, Spring Meetings, or Rally.

- Doesn’t want to “be pushy” by asking for bookings.

- Gets discouraged easily, and often focuses on what is “wrong” with the company.

It's very hard for someone who has no ambition, no goals, no desire to learn and doesn't want help from her upline to get bookings to grow her business. Her negative attitude is often passed on to others she talks to, and often people avoid booking parties just so they can get away from her. There have been hostesses who had held parties for other Designers, who loved our products and their guests really loved our products too, but NO ONE BOOKED! Why? It was the Designer’s poor attitude, lack of preparation for the party, or personality that caused the other guests in attendance NOT TO BOOK. So what can anyone do to become a "persistent booker"? Well, let's check out the traits of the "winners" and you can see how well you are doing and what you may need to change!

Traits of Winners:

-Begin training and booking parties as soon as they sign up! They understand the importance of getting started right away. They follow the “Checklist for Success.” They realize there is never going to be a “perfect time for everyone” so they set a date for their first party, invite everyone, and don’t worry about those who can’t come, knowing that they can still get an order and a booking from them!

- Sets short term and long term goals for their business. Treats her business like a business, not as a hobby. She knows exactly how much she wants to earn when she begins, 6 months from now, 1 year from now, 5 years from now. Calculates carefully what needs to be done to reach her goals and makes an action plan to keep on target. She is persistent and patient.  She makes a commitment to invest enough time into her business and follows through.

- Knows that sometimes you need to have a "special offer" in order to keep your calendar full. (Now is a great time to stock up on items in the March Sale Flyer!) Understands that it is better to have a party and "make something" than it is to stay home and "make nothing"! Uses the "Open Date Sheet" and takes control of her schedule to build consistency in her business. Enthusiastically shares our awesome hostess plan and promotions with everyone she meets and would rather book a party than take an order because she understands the party will produce a potential 8 - 10 new customers for her.

- When needed she will book fairs and festivals to build new booking chains. She recognizes that there are hundreds and hundreds of people who would love to have a show with her but that she has to get out in the public to meet them. She is willing to invest time and finances to find those events and work them.

- Schedules time each week to make "follow up calls". Asks leads for daytime and evening phone numbers and the best time to call. Enthusiastically makes telephone calls and leaves an "upbeat message" if the person is not available. Creates a sense of urgency for the person to call back by tempting with a "special offer".

- Takes advantage of all training opportunities including phone call meetings. Takes lots of notes and immediately begins putting those ideas into action. Shares all that she learns by sharing the CH opportunity with others and helping them with their business too!

- Realizes that it is important to offer everyone the opportunity to book a party to earn free and discounted products and doesn't worry about the "one out of ten people" that might be offended. Understands that "some will, some won't, so what, someone is waiting"!

-Is mostly enthusiastic about her CH business and if experiencing a slump will listen to motivational and training material to build herself up. Focuses on the positive aspects of the business and company!

The winner builds a consistent booking schedule and once the ball is rolling avoids sales slumps because she is always looking forward (not backwards) in her business. If a booking is lost she will immediately replace it. She understands that the most important business to her is the business that is yet to come! She is excited and enthusiastic about her business and loves sharing it with everyone she meets. She is a joy to be around and everyone wants to book a party from her because she "creates a fun girl’s night out" for everyone! Winners don't worry about their business, they don't have to!

Yes, inside all of you is a Winner just waiting to be set Free! If you've been holding back it's time you took the leap to become the "winner you can and were meant to be"! Become a "persistent booker" and everything else will fall into place. Set a goal for what you want to achieve in sales for March and then dive in and make it happen!
