THE BAMBOO TREE
The growth of a bamboo tree is a true
phenomenon. If you were to plant a bamboo stalk in your backyard, did you
know that you would have to water and care for it for five years before the
new tree would actually appear? Five years!
What happens next is what makes it a true phenomenon. Once the bamboo tree
appears, it will soar to over 90 feet in a matter of six weeks, or at the
rate of three feet every 24 hours! You can almost watch it grow!
We can learn a lot about our business from the bamboo tree. We plant our
stalk when we join this industry, and we continue to nurture and water it
every day, as we do shows and build a team. We often don't see much happen
for quite some time, but we still keep watering and meticulously caring for
it.
Then one day, our organization begins to build. It catches its first rays of
sunshine, and away it goes! We can almost sit back and watch it grow, faster
and faster, higher and higher, show by show, hostess by hostess and new
recruit by new recruit.
The good news is that no matter how long you've been growing your bamboo
tree (business), no matter how many obstacles or setbacks you've
experienced, as long as you keep doing it, keep watering and nurturing and
caring, it will grow! Keep at it . . . and never give up!
