Step
1 Welcome to Home & Garden Party -
Complete Step #1 within
48 hours.
¨
Welcome!
– As a new Designer on the Garden of Roses team you will be invited to join
our yahoo group, Garden of Roses. Please accept the invitation, follow the
steps to create your yahoo profile, save the home page to your favorites or
make sure you can access the groups through Yahoo.com.
¨
Email
Loops
- As a new Designer you will be added to two yahoo groups, the Busy Bees and
the Garden of Roses. You can post a message to the loops by sending an
email to either BusyBees@yahoogroups.com
and
Garden_of_Roses@yahoogroups.com. If
you are not receiving messages from both groups in your email inbox please
contact your sponsor as soon as possible. Use our loops wisely and only post
information relevant to H&GP and always be positive!
¨
H&GP Website
– You will receive an email from the home office with your ID# and
password. Save that email for future reference and write your ID and
password in your date book or other location where you will know where to
find it! Contact the Home Office at 800-700-7873 if you do not receive it.
New information is posted daily! Stay informed and be sure to check the Web
~ “News” and “Newest Updates” daily. Learn how to navigate through the
website and where information is located. The tools you need to succeed in
your business are located there. We encourage you to “work smarter not
harder.” Please go to Web ~ “Site Help” or by clicking
HERE and test your media files and download any free programs that are
needed to view or listen to the material available.
To properly view the
Online Courses, fliers and trainings on the H&GP web site, you must have the
latest
versions of Adobe®
Flash®, Adobe® Acrobat® and Real Player® on your computer. Click on the
links below
to download the
latest versions free of charge.
¨
H&GP Direct Web ID - Each Designer
has the opportunity to have a free H&GP Web Id. With your Web Id you can
market your business and have your hostesses and customers shop the H&GP
online website. You receive full commission on these sales and you also pay
no credit card fees! Handling fees are paid by the customer. To set up your
personal Web Id log into your H&GP account, click on "Online Office." then
"Account Settings," and then "Change Direct Web ID." Choose a unique Web Id,
short and simple for your customers to remember, such as "Mary," "MarySmith,"
"ShopwithMary," etc. Keep it simple!
You can shorten your Web
Id to www.newhgp.com/Webid/Deb.
Just substitute "Deb" with your personal Web Id that you selected.
Inform everyone and let them know
they can shop online anytime. Include your Direct Web Id on all your
literature. At your parties be sure to collect email addresses from
everyone. You can create your own database with email addresses or use
www.constantcontact.com to maintain a mailing list. Every month you can
send out an announcement of all the new specials and invite your customers
to shop online. You can also send out reminders before a sale is over. With
the introduction of a new catalog you can send out an email mailing for that
announcement to invite everyone to visit your website to shop online for all
that's new!
¨
Personal Website -
You have several options. You can simply use your free H&GP Web Id link,
build your own personal website and link your Web Id on your personal pages,
or hire someone to build and maintain a personal website for you if you want
additional pages. A webmaster, Dave Sharpe, can create a personal
website at affordable pricing. Both standard and customized websites are
available. Call 267-254-2105.
If you would like a
simple direct link to promote your H&GP direct go to:
www.mydomain.com. Purchase a
domain name that is easy to remember like www.Hollyshopdirect.com or
www.DollyDesigner.com. It costs $16.95 for a 2 year registration.
Then log into your mydomain account to "manage my account", click on the
domain name you created, go to URL forwarding. Your new URL should be in the
first box, go down to the second group on blocks, paste in your H&GP direct
link http://www.HomeandGardenParty.com/Home?WebId=Kathleen (use the entire
thing). Anyone who goes to your new URL will automatically be forwarded to
the H&GP Direct site with your Designer link! There are no monthly hosting
fees or other fees associated with it. It's simple and will make your direct
link easy to promote! Even if you have a personal website you may want
something exclusively so customers can be directed to shop with you without
having to find your on-line catalog link within your web site.
¨
Complete ACH Form
– Log into Web ~ “Forms/Docs” or click
HERE and then print a copy of the ACH form. You
can either fax or mail the form to the home office. To complete by fax
make a photocopy of a voided check and deposit slip and fax the ACH Form to the
Home Office at the fax # at the top of the
form. You can also mail the form along with a voided check
and deposit slip to the address listed on the ACH form. Your ACH account with H&GP will allow you to pay for orders on-line and
receive automated commission deposits. After qualifying as a designer with
$1,500 in sales, your monthly 10% bonus will be direct deposited into your
ACH account. Please note that credit/debit card payments will be charged a
2.75% processing fee. ACH has no processing fee.
Complete your ACH as soon as you have joined. It may take up to two weeks
for your ACH to be completed.

Weekly Party News Newsletter
- All Designers receive a weekly newsletter
from Executive Vice President of Sales John Kiple featuring important dates,
promotions, trainings, events and tips to promote your business. This is
sent to the e-mail address you provided on your H&GP application every
Friday at 4:00 PM central time. Please make certain that you are able to
accept e-mail from Home & Garden Party.
¨
Party Buzz
- Once a month, around the
15th, you will receive the H&GP "Party Buzz" in your email. Please watch for
this email and notify your sponsor if you do not receive it. Sometimes,
those emails are screened to spam mail and we want to make sure you are
receiving them. The Party Buzz newsletter is a fabulous business building
tool you can forward to anyone and includes information on all our current
promotions.
¨
Email Data Base
- Work smarter, not harder by becoming a collector of email addresses!
Collect email addresses from all of your contacts...family, friends,
hostesses, customers, fair leads, etc. Use either a service such as
www.constantcontact.com or a simple
word document to compile lists of email addresses to send the Party Buzz to,
for recruit prospects, etc. Note: when adding email addresses in a Word doc
simply separate each email address by a comma and then a space. You can then
simply copy and paste the addresses in the "Forward to a friend" link in the
party buzz! You can also compose your own emails and then simply add
your own email address in the "To" line and then copy and paste your data
base of emails and paste them in your "Bcc" line. That way, each person will
only see their email address and yours!

¨
Continue to Build your Business through Bookings
- Expanding your business outside of family
and
friends will keep you in business and find success in
building a team. Please review the following
articles: "Bookings"
Out and About – As you go about your daily activities, carry mini mailers
and a notepad with you! Share the Home & Garden Party Opportunity at least
twice a day! You never know who may place an order, book a party or want to
join your team. Start by handing a mini mailer and sharing “I am a new
Designer with Home & Garden Party. Are you familiar with our company?
(allow them to browse mailer) Do you have a Designer you are working with?
If not I’d love to be your Home & Garden Party Designer.” Based on their
interest level, inform them they can place an order, get some of the items
they see free or ˝ off, or earn extra income. If they would like to see
more (a full-size catalog) get their information (name, address, phone, best
time to call) or ask them if they would share this with someone they know
who may be interested! Follow up appropriately!
Fairs/Bazaars/etc-
Grow your bookings the smart way! Look everywhere for upcoming events in
your area and register to participate. Growing beyond your circle of
friends and family can really help your business to take off! Learn
everything you need to know by reading the “Fair/Expo training packet”. It will
provide you with information on how and where to locate events, how to set
them up, verbiage to use, and how to follow up.
Fundraising
- Fundraising is an important aspect of our business and you have the
opportunity to assist organizations around your community in reaching their
fundraising goals. You can schedule a meeting with your sponsor to review
our fundraising program and establish a business plan for including
fundraising in your business. For a training guide as well as the
letters and documents you will need for your business visit "Fundraising."
Simply add your contact information to the forms and save them to your
computer.
