The Importance of Setting Goals Not all Designers join CH to aspire to earn a million dollars, to become an Infinity Designer, or to become a top leader in our company. In fact, our company is made up predominantly of a lot of people who work our business part-time, sell a little, and may occasionally sponsor. To some, success is not measured in dollars or titles or promotions; but in time with their families, health and happiness, or in making a difference in the lives of others.
It's a known fact that
only about 20 percent of the people generally set goals,
which accounts for the 80/20 rule (20 percent of the people doing 80 percent
of the work). That's why
it's important to set goals that are important to you, not anyone else.
Our home office support and your sponsor are there to help you to achieve
those goals. The "4-D" approach provides a roadmap to achieving our goals. When you keep focused on these four simple principles, you can achieve your own personal success in your CH business.
First, you must make the decision or set the goal. Ask yourself: What do I want? Where do I want to go or be, and in what timeframe? What do I want to accomplish with the Smart Start Rewards program? What do I want to accomplish within my first 3 full months, the next six months, within my first year? These are decisions you must make before you can proceed. Once you have made the decision, you'll begin to feel empowered and energized! Commit to your decision by writing it down and placing it in places you will see. These visual reminders can be put on the refrigerator or your office or workspace wall. When you see it, you believe it. When you believe it, you accomplish it! Share it with your family, your friends, and your sponsor!
Once you’ve made the decision, things will suddenly start to fall into place. The desire begins to build, and you become more excited, motivated and focused on your goal. The size of the goal determines its effect, so set a goal that you intensely desire. Then believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that you can achieve it. Paint yourself a picture. Visualize your goal as already accomplished. Replay that image over and over in your mind. Where will you be? What will you have? How will you feel when you get there? Goals are like magnets. The better defined the goal, the stronger the pull.
While making the decision provides the roadmap,
the details become the vehicles to
get you to your destination. The details are the little things, your daily
list of things to do. Group your tasks. Whether you have calls to make, invitations to put together or mail, a potential hostess to visit, a training call to join in - do similar things all together or multi-task. You will save time and be more productive. Before you leave your home, pause for a moment and ask yourself, "Where am I going? What am I going to do? Put together your invitations while listening to a training call, remember to take them with you to drop off at the post office while on your way to visit a hostess. Begin thinking in minutes, not in hours. It’s surprising what can be accomplished in 60 seconds. It’s ridiculous to put things off because you don’t have the time. Many Designers say they don't have enough time for their business but at the same time don't realize the minutes in a day that go down the drain. Time spent waiting in line, out and about shopping, watching TV etc can really add up. Like pennies, minutes add up; and it’s up to you how you wish to invest them.
When you reach your goal, you enjoy the desired result. You'll hear Designers say, "My business is just snowballing. I’m really on a roll and have never had so many bookings!" That’s what happens when the "4-D Approach" is followed. That excitement of reaching your goal builds momentum and you are then that more excited to focus on your business. The only way you can stop "the roll" is to stop taking care of the details. It’s only when you get tired, cease making lists of things to do, cease being focused on the job or goal at hand, that you begin to lose the momentum it takes to achieve your goals.
It’s also important to remember that
as we attain each short-term goal, we must have another to replace it.
Goals
are like tree roots. They need to be nourished to grow and flourish. Please
have confidence in what you can accomplish with your business and be willing
to reach for what you ideally wish to achieve. Please watch this short video on setting goals and achieving success: http://www.natureofsuccessmovie.com
